Since 2002, Home Cooking New York (HCNY) has built its reputation on designing and teaching fun and informative cooking classes in private homes throughout New York City. In 2010, HCNY expanded on this intimate and social style of teaching and opened its first public school in Manhattan in a light-filled Chelsea kitchen loft. The HCNY teaching kitchen was specifically designed to mirror a residential kitchen so you are learning to cook in a space designed for apartment dwellers and not a commercial restaurant. This is key to successfully taking what you learned back home with you.

HCNY's “brick and mortar” school upholds the same level of intimacy and charm as our private classes, with friendly instructors (Jennifer Clair & John Scoff), accessible recipes and convenient class schedules. HCNY also has a second school location in the Hudson Valley (Beacon).

Each 2 ½-hour class is hands-on and culminates with a full sit-down, family-style dinner. Students are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with their well-deserved meal, and everyone goes home with a complete recipe packet. Small class sizes (10 students maximum) allow for ideal chef-student interaction.
