Apartment 48
This unconventional housewares shop in NYC's Flatiron district makes you feel right at home as you explore its innovative and dynamic concept: a not-so perfectly adorned apartment displaying each functional and decorative item in its natural habitat. It prompts an urgency to kick off your shoes and take advantage of the cushy surroundings; a cozy, embracing living room, a kitchen cluttered with china, stemware, stainless-steel cookware, and every useful utensil you can imagine. Towels, soaps, bath brushes and shower curtains are piled in the bathroom: pillows and linens fill the bedroom. Rayman Boozer's impeccable interior design sense favors an eclectic combination of rustic patina finishes mixed with the very sleek, creating the perfect hybrid of swank domesticity and suave comfort.

Home Cooking NY
| Since 2002, Home Cooking New York (HCNY) has built its reputation on designing and teaching fun and informative cooking classes in private homes throughout New York City. In 2010, HCNY expanded on this intimate and social style of teaching and opened its first public school in Manhattan in a light-filled Chelsea kitchen loft. The HCNY teaching kitchen was specifically designed to mirror a residential kitchen so you are learning to cook in a space designed for apartment dwellers and not a commercial restaurant. This is key to successfully taking what you learned back home with you.
HCNY's “brick and mortar” school upholds the same level of intimacy and charm as our private classes, with friendly instructors (Jennifer Clair & John Scoff), accessible recipes and convenient class schedules. HCNY also has a second school location in the Hudson Valley (Beacon).
Each 2 ½-hour class is hands-on and culminates with a full sit-down, family-style dinner. Students are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with their well-deserved meal, and everyone goes home with a complete recipe packet. Small class sizes (10 students maximum) allow for ideal chef-student interaction.

This small, neighborhood boutique is on Howard Street in New York's Soho. It is a curio box of eclectic and organic objects and gifts. The collection started with Michele's own collection of decorative pillows, which are carried around the US, Canada and the UK. It is often sited as being the first to carry new, young designers and is on every design conscious visitor's list of shops to visit in NYC in order to see the well curated selection of objects, gifts and home design.
